Very bad news that..........

Spending far too much time playing with something that isn't a bike - how dare you !!!!!!!!!!!!

My Herety has had an hour of fettling this afternoon = that's it, out with the polish and oily rags - not that it shall be on the road in this weather.... nor did it need it, but some TLC never went unwanted......... the commuter was sorted out yesterday.....

PS Yep got the Pugwash DVD from The Times - not bad £2.00 for 30 episodes of a programme - shame about the huge amount of wrapping that came with it ! ;)

lol well I is trying very hard Cathryn! The hardest thing about it is that you can't see what you're doing! And then getting control over the bellows is very hard. This is what I'm hoping my teacher will enlighten me on...I also want to learn argentinian tango music, basically anything that will keep me occupied.

I do like folk music RT - my favourite accordion player is martin green - he's quite experimental with it, but I will listen to Phil Cunningham too. Thanks for the recommendation. Your ex must have been pretty good!

I'm just concentrating on working out songs that I like so I don't notice that I'm learning the buttons etc. And I'm still riding my bike too (but not doing both at the same time).

Right then now this is starting to get really COOL.

I went to see my teacher tonight, who gave me a load of tunes to learn...'develop your own style, come back in a few weeks,' he said...' and you can come with me to a jam session in brum'...at a proper irish pub, with proper irish people playing proper irish music.

COR BLIMEY!!

Only thing is my accordion has got a poorly C, and needs to go back to the shop. Must go tomorrow morning...

But Crikey! A proper folky jam session thingy...better swot up on mi best Brummie...

I'd drop the "Cor Blimey" for starters!

And not sure if "Crikey" would fit in either...

If you're in Brum, there's a specialist accordion shop hidden away at the end of Landor Street somewhere. It's one house, surrounded by derelict industry and burnt out cars, but the owner's a friendly and helpful guy and the place is stuffed full of £2 000 + accordions. He can do anything in the way of repairs too. I assume he's still there - I've not been for a few years.

I'll rememeber that RT thanks. I had a go on a 2 grand French accordion last night and it was like driving a Merc...

And by the way Noodley - Brummies do say 'blimey' but its more of a BLOIMAY (going up at the end)

I was so disappointed....

My sister told me she was getting me an accordion for Xmas (somehow she 'gets' musical intstruments, don't know how). But come the big day, and I got a crappy book...no mention of an accordion. She got me a flute before, but it wasn't 'me'. But I just know I'd be inseparable from the accordion. And not just because you can make weak wordplays about squeezeboxes etc....
Perhaps that's why her marriage failed... all promise and no delivery ;)

Oh what a bummer! You could just get one anyway, second hand they can be quite affordable. They are so cool because they are so versatile. You can do loads of different styles with them.

Mine is currently at the music shop getting repaired as it's got a poorly C. I'm lost without it! ;)
