"Walter" the 79 year old farmer who was next to me died this morning according to one of the nurses who's just come on duty. That's a damn shame. He was telling me yesterday how he was still working up till ending up in here after falling in one of his fields. He developed breathing problems yesterday afternoon and was moved to the ICU where he passed away.

That sounds like a life well-lived. I'd like to be active right up until the end.

As long as I breathe, I attack.
You never know, you might be lucky and get a bed bath.

I'm in the departure lounge waiting for transport home. I must say i've thoroughly enjoyed my 5 day stay here! Everyone has been very kind. The bloke across from me(Martin from Burnley)will be in for quite a bit longer. He fractured his pelvis falling off his bike and has been told he faces 3 weeks in traction. He has been bed ridden since he was admitted last Wednesday. Poor chap, i'll come back and visit him asap.

You are getting out quickly. When I broke mine last year think it was about 10 days before I could leave.
Any chance of getting a foot from one of the rabbits culled at your cemetery to see if your luck changes?;)

They've just been to tell me that I'll be going home today.
Will carers be laid on?

No, they said I could manage on my own. They even asked me if I could do my own anti blood clotting injections. I said no as I'm squemish about injecting myself, so a district nurse will call every day for the next month to do that and check on the operation scar.
Ditto with me and the injections, ended up with a bunch of stuff from the Occupational Therapist being delivered to the house though to help me 'cope'.
