thanks all. will work through these things to do this afternoon. bike was worth £550 3 years ago - shizuoka hoy. it was on Europa circle in trafford park for those of you local....i had joined from Fraser place where I get off from the canal path he joined from the western arm.

will try and link up some pics. think the bike is a right off but would be good to see if repair is even an option.

Any news on the foot?

Get the bike assessed by Evans as the original supplier and two other LBS. but that frame and thus the bike look like toast I fear

Going off the second pic, the bike has had it.

The insurance co is hoping that by paying for your bike promptly you will forget to claim for your injuries. My take is that you should take it slowly, wait until you are fully recovered and look into joining the Cycling UK and seeing if you can get retrospective legal advice.

and yes, the scan revealed no breaks or fractures....still sore but feeling very lucky and grateful.
Keep an eye on it. Might need Physio. If you go private, keep all invoices and tell the Physio that you might be making a claim so to keep thorough notes

yeah, they said i will get another call in the next 24 hours to discuss my personal injuries. i feel that i will be sore for a few days and have had to take today off work but think i will be fine next week thank god. for me the cost of replacing the bike seems fair. but I understand some things do not heal so sometimes best to wait some time.

about the bike. the mud guards and pannier rack may have survived ok. would I be expected to switch them to a new bike (not even sure if new bike will be compatible with them) or should I factor that into replacement . assume they take into account depreciation of the bike too so would I be looking at getting 75% of bike cost or would they pay full cost for a brand new one usually?
