Just woke up here in North London and we have had about 2 inches during the night!! Snow that is!!

There was sufficient snow and a lack of gritters to make Bradford roads appear to be too risky for school travel and my school has been closed and all of today's coach trips cancelled.

The precipitation has been that significant.

Another inch or so overnight in Derby, but not as icy as yesterday. Still snowing intermittently. I don't think for a monment we've seen the worst of it yet.

Yesterday was considerably colder than this morning, minus 3 maybe with a wind chill factor as well, but no snow (although it did snow 1/2 hour after i got to work)....cold but crisp commute.
This morning (Tuesday) there's 1/2 maybe 1 inch of snow and surprisingly the grit thats already on the road hasn't really broke it down...its a bit like compacted slush. No problems on the commute (only 5 miles ish), just very steady on bends etc. Cars are driving sensibly. I should day its about 0 degrees with just a breeze. Seems positively balmy compared to yesterday
