Wow Uncle Phil, that was more like the start of an episode of Casualty when you are geared up waiting for the big incident.... when it got to 1:38 where the Land Rover passed the van turning round I expected the screen to go blank and fuzzy. Looks a bit slippy?

It's not so much slippy as that the snow's been piled up into ruts. You get trapped in a rut, and then it's hard to get out. I was trying to move to the left as the Disco approached, and its driver probably wasn't looking beyond the van turning. It was a bit close, and the frantic balancing movement I made to get out of a rut just as he zoomed up didn't help...

I wobbled, but I didn't at any point fall down.

Couple of inches here in South Manchester/Stockport.
Enough to keep my bike indoors for the time being, roads are either hazardous(side ones) or a slushy mess.

Although the snow has been falling all day in North London, none has stuck and it's washed away any that was there this morning.

Looks like I made the right choice to cycle in today.

-3 to -1 over night. Better be wary of ice on the roads tomorrow.

Barnet,
We had a couple of inches this morning, but it has mostly gone now, although it is still sleeting in the wind which is quite cold.

The snow is now over the top of my wellies, the only benefit is that the garden has now become a massive beer chiller! (once I had dug the car out to get to the shop)

Not too bad. I was lucky. 17.37 Thameslink from Farringdon to Wimbledon. 18.40 from Wimbledon to Tolworth. Home by 19.00. Pure luck my trains were not delayed.

Saw commuters stranded all over the place - commuters trying to head towards Croydon on the tram from Wimbledon - absolute nightmare!

There was a guy on R4 today in Bromley that had been in car for 5 hours and only managed to travel 7 miles
