Bit chilly here in Ofordshire but beautiful blue skies and no snow on the ground to speak of.
Sun always shines on the righteous and all that...

Yep, and only the good die young..........

If it really does become more of a regular occurrence, and if I can really be convinced that an MTB with knobblies really will grip on the stuff, I might consider getting myself a cheap one just for this (never owned an MTB up till now). My road bike is useless in lying snow. Advice?

Ah! Why stick at "cheap"? You could sort yourself out with a decent bit of old stock ... and come summer you'll be sending totally radical shapes down some gnarly singletrack, dude!

The weeble method let me down this morning.

Fantastic video - you got an 'OOF' - that was 10,000 points on space invaders, though you may have lost two lives, as you appear to be shot down twice

We've caught up with the rest of Britain, with a vengeance now! I measured 33cm (13") outside our house this morning, and still falling! I set off for work, in wellies, but half-way there I got the (expected) phone call sending me back home. At least I got a bit of shopping done. Very few cars about: I envy anyone who's got skis...

Woke up to find another foot of snow in Bromley. Orpington Station is all over the national news and is now shut until further notice.

Bloody buggery snow! We've had a sodding foot and more tomorrow, but all forecast to thaw on saturday.

Bloody buggery snow chains that I bought for this winter, £20 from Acme Crap Company, the sods lasted 15 miles before pinging off somewhere en-route - found one, totally shredded! That's 9mm crappy Chinese crap for you! Probably made somewhere in the tropics where they don't even have a word for "snow".

On Amazon.de this morning and splashed out 57 euros for a decent pair of 12mm German ones with good customer reviews, on the premise that the Germans have plenty of snow and probably make decent snow chains. Plus I can speak passable(ish) German, which helps make sure that I don't end up ordering fifteen parasols and a cat basket, or something like that!

The English Amazon has only two snow chains, both of which look cheap and crap and are all sold out, whereas the German Amazon has four pages of the buggers, all readily available.
