Hand Torch for night walking. Any suggestions.

Over the years I have just paid a few bob and got what I got.
I have recently enjoyed walks at 0500 (that's morning).
Technology has improved so much. You can get 50, 100 even 200 lumens. I also understand that some beams penetrate better than others.
I DON'T want a head torch and I don't need to light up the universe.
Screwfix and Toolstation do some that look decent for 15 quid.
Any thoughts ?

I take my bike lights with me when I go camping and use them as hand torches.

I've got a ledlenser police tactical torch, about double your budget from screw fix but mine has taken some abuse over the years and is still going! I like the way you can alter the beam from wide to narrow.

This sort of torch is ideal IME, on zoom out it can pick out bunnies over 200 yds away and is very small & portable. Runs off 1 AA battery - rechargeable or not.

Shadowhawk. Cheap, but quite cheerful. I carry one as a backup SAR torch.

Sounds excellent. If I need to pay that I will but it may be a bit ott for what I want.
