Thinking of getting a dishwasher - never had one before.
I imagine they are one ginormous waste of energy. Am i right? Opinions?
Who's got a dishwasher, and thinks it's the best thing since sliced bread?
Thanks
Maz just buy one, it's almost life changing especially if you have young family!!
Ours has been through 22 years and three children and still works perfectly. My tips would be:
Buy one with a simple programme, basically on/off, a rule we apply to all white goods - who ever uses them all?
Stack neatly and logically to maximise space and economy. If anything like our house one half will do this, the other won't!!
Have cheap glasses for everyday use as they will break. Always wash good glass by hand.
Anything greasy or "potatoey" should be rinsed before putting in the dishwasher or everything will come out covered in a fine layer of potato/greasy. Don't believe the adverts.
You may have to buy extra items of cutlery/crockery of the things you use a lot. In our house it's mugs and teaspoons as we drink more than we wash
Now our household has dropped from five to two, bliss, we still use it but perhaps only every two days.
