The mother in law likes the things. Before the caravan became ours, she had a few at the caravan. Since taking it over some years ago, the gnomes have 'died' gradually (ahem) but we were left with a horrible plastic mushroom house and a lighthouse. The lighthouse fortunately got smashed over winter when a fence panel blew over (I was so upset), so working on the bloody mushroom next. It's hideous.

My mum & dad had a plastic heron by the fishpond to, allegedly, scare away the timorous beasties.
Not sure it ever worked though :blink:
