Hi guys. There seems to be a lot of threads on this forum on this subject over time ,
My two cents....

Go commando, in bibbed shorts with good pads

Ensure the old fella is up and to off to one side

Add a little salon or sudocream to crevices and other delicate areas and off you go

Went out tonight with pants on under padding and although it got a bit screwed up and tight allwads reasonably comfy, Just the minor straight leg shuffle to sort things out.

Think Commando is a no no for me.

Its definitely worth experimenting with some different makes before you go back to wearing pants under them. Still you could have done worse I remember buying my first pair of lycra shorts back in the 80`s not knowing any better having not done "proper" cycling before I just bought a pair out of Kays catalogue with no padding. Some of the looks i got when i went into town I thought i was going to be hanged by some of the husbands the wives didnt seem to mind thou.^_^

For millions of cyclists around the world, wearing a pair of lycra shorts without underpants is a completely mundane and uneventful exercise, entirely unworthy of any discussion whatsoever. I'm struggling to understand what is so different about your situation..??
