Beacuse after no distance work since 14th April, I've just nipped out for a ride and cracked the metric century. In a time of 3:56 (no breaks), averageing 16mph.
It was my first trip with the Garmin 500 (which I have just changed the page settings, because they were all wrong for cycling). The breadcromb mapping wasn't too bad, if you take the wrong turning it tells you you're off course, so you just return to the junction and try again.

This provides more information than the Runkeeper app I've been using on the iPhone, and the battery lasted the distance (which the iPhone didn't).
Well happy.

Forgot to add, at one point I ended up in a race, with people cheering me on (actually embarressing), and trying to explain to a bloke I didn't want a banana as he's running along side me. Best of all over took four marked riders, and didn't get overtaken (the two empty water bottles on the back of the saddles sugested that they might be more tired than me, but it still counts).

Berties

Fast and careful!
Two great rides there have to have a look at them next year ,either side of the Solent ,well ridden
