A friend has two insurance write-offs: knackered frames, but with all the Ultegra componentry inc wheels intact. She's let me have the pick of all these bits, so all I need is a frame.
Want to build a decent road bike on the cheap.
Suggestions please.
Prefer the look of steel or titanium.
Oh and it's got to be cheap-(ish)
^_^

How cheap are you looking? The Ribble frames seem pretty good value throughout the range.

£300 - £400 ish tops.
The equipment is good quality, so I'd like the fame to be commensurate with this.
Not completely averse to carbon fibre though.
At the moment my 'road bike' is a frankenbike fixed running an 83 inch gear. I can just about keep up with my road club on a good day. I'd like to be able to keep up with them on a bad day too.....

Have a look on the Planet X site.

They have some New Old Stock bargains. A collection of alloy and steel frames that have been sat in a warehouse for a while.
