My ride to work....a mere 5.5 mile...used to take 30 mins......., ive now got it down to twenty......with what feels the same amount of effort. Obvisouly getting better.
Then take another mode of transport and save your legs....I have that in mind, ive just done the coast to coast and I go out at weekends if I get a chance, I get uo at four to leave the house for work at half past, and I work long hours so I cant really extend it morning or night as when I finish I cant really be bothered

Its not always about speed-freak stuff, some riders naturally fall into a cadence/speed of their own.How old are you?
And what type of bike do you have?
Because I can do 11 miles in 40mins on my hybrid bike.
I know I can go faster but it's a mental state as when my legs hurt I slow down when there is no need to.
So go harder and faster!!!
I have a large backpack weighing at least 15kg.Im 32, got a boardman mtb with panniers, I could do 11 miles in 40 minutes I reckon.....just my trip to work is just 5.5 miles
