Even in Cyprus we still have the heating on when sitting indoors. It's warmer outside the buildings!
Having spent a fair bit of time in the past working in Cyprus at this time of year, now I think about it, to me it always felt warm yet the family I used to visit would always have a fire going in the evening. I guess it's all relative, when you're used to their summer temps, winter must feel really quite cold.
I went up Troodos one year, I was in a thin jumper and a t shirt...I felt ok but all the locals were wearing scarves, gloves and heavy coats ^_^

Your kidding, mine is on all year and only goes off when Mrs Slick takes her eye off the ball which is never.

My thermostat is turned right down. It might come on first thing if it's a cold morning. Not been on for a couple of days

Turned off  I am a Yorkshire man, never turned it on.^_^

Just kidding, the Missus has a body temperature a few degrees lower than me, must be a female thing. Have no choice but to turn it on, and anyway it saves me getting the old ears bent over how freezing it is.

I'm buggered if I can understand what's going on here, so I just leave it.

Yes, that's what it's like. The tourists are the ones in t-shirts and shorts!

Our only ever goes on if it feels cold enough. There is no thermostat on the system. It is on or off. It's certainly off more than on.

I've a boatman stove for heating but living in a small space it only gets lit when it's really cold. I can't sleep when it's too hot and the stove being solid fuel it gets too warm and Bonnie can't sleep either and fidgets so it's easier to wear more layers of clothing
