Has my crank gone?

Ok so i recently replaced by Bottom Bracket as my last one was fairly old and i have also recently got some new pedals. HOWEVER, ive been having some nasty creaking/crunchy noises the past couple days (to the point its no noisy to pedal)
I took my pedals off to re lube and noticed some of the thread on the crank was coming off and had a funny smell to it (i had cycled back from work)
The non drive side seems to keep loosening as well and i need to have to tighten it up fairly tightly with an 8'inch allen key.

Just wondering it it sound like the crank to you or if one of the new components (bottom bracket) or pedals have done.

Are the pedals on the right cranks? Sounds like you may have cross-threaded them.

What cranks/bb/pedals are you using?

yeah I use that one quite a lot.

Sounds like the new BB and cranks may be mismatched. Did you check it is specific to your crankset? Is it a square taper type or other?
