You'll get used to it an eventually 30 miles will seem like a walk in the park.I doff my cap and give a big chapaue to the 5 day a week 30+ mile commuters. Today is my fourth day of a 30 mile round trip commute and its bloody hard work.
So hats off to you and have another slice of cake![]()
The return trip is like this and its not that easy for the first 3 miles going in

It looks steep, but really its just a steady 2% climb for 12miles, so 100ft per mile...Might take me a bit longer to get used to that! Chapeau doing that regularly

So decided 2/3 days a week will be fine from now on
Its a little less if you put the in/out journey together, its then 30miles and 1600ft100ft per mile, I come out in a cold sweat if I have to go over 30 feet per mile
I will show our nice canteen lady this msg as to why I have enough cake to sink a ship at lunch. So hats off to you and have another slice of cake![]()

I must echo the OPs sentiment. I've only a 16 mile round trip, and the missus won't let me do it daily, so respect for those that grind away daily at big miles.
