Cycling down a rural lane today and noncholantly walking towards me was this creature. Not the slightest bit bothered and seemingly enjoying his/her stroll.

My sis in law has a couple of Emus. Both very tame and like a cuddle having been hand reared and fed from chicks. Scatty as anything and I wouldn’t be at all surprised to see them running down the lane.

Maryfields farm shop in Thornaby have 3 of them in a field and near me is alpaca alpaca farm with alpacas. They do experiences and you camp under the stars in the field in a hut with the alpacas. They are wonderful creatures.

At least it left you alone. Child 2 has, through college had to handle Alpacas and they can spit at you. So don't stop at the herd between Culcheth and Glazebrook.

One escaped near Whitminster (Glos) a couple of weeks ago that made the local rag. I know the smallholding they come from, and they have a white one, too. Seems the buggers are quite difficult to keep fenced in!
