Can we have a photo of you running past his statue to prove it?
His statue would still beat me.

It all rather depends on how the person aquired fame and/or popularity. Someone posted earlier theyed met Douglas Bader. I think that hes deserves respect. ( unpleasant though he appeared to be to a friend of mine who met him)

Who?

I should have remembered, I was on an Easyjet flight from Edinburgh to London after St Paddys day last year and the guy sitting beside me was Shane from Boyzone. I couldn't remember which boyband he was in but we had a nice chat about cars (he's into drifting now). Although he looks a bit scary, he was a really nice guy.

I also forgot some cyclists I've met generally at the Tour or city centre cycling. The nicer ones were: Phil Anderson - nice, Sean Kelly, nice, Robert Millar, nice, Bobby J nice, der Kaiser, nice Cav - twat (but he was a lot younger)

Ok here goes. these are the ones I can remember, folk who I have actually spoken too as opposed to walk past or been in the same room as. Some are alive, some are dead, some you might have to Google thought they would've been well known in there day. Some are in prison or are possibly about to go to prison.
Only two of them were utter cocks.
Interesting that in a list that included a fair number of 'Sirs' the only one you thought we might not recognise without it added was Cliff Richard. :-)

Oh, and agreed on Corbett for one of the positions of utter cock. My dads mate used to work as an engineer at the beeb for a while and he was the only one he felt needed commenting on. Wouldn't let you share a lift with him apparently.

I'll throw in two,

It's all rather B-list so far and I am unable to raise the bar.

I was introduced to Derek Jacobi at a private party in Heaven, the gay nightclub under the arches in Charing Cross.

The wannabe actress who spoke to him next burst into tears.

All a bit too luvvie for me, so I made my excuses and left.
