As a child (playing age) of the 70's some of these toys bring back great memories. I had the Evel Knievel motor bike and the car type thing. I think it was called The Rocket. Does anyone remember that? I also had loads and loads of the little matchbox cars. What hours of fun I had with those. Happy childhood memories. But, my fav was action man. I had tons of that get up. Did any body have the radio set that used the little discs to play the messages?

Then there was the man himself. A rakish scar on the cheek and suede head haircut that just portrayed the I'm a no nonsense hard man image. It was into occupied Europe, take on lots of nazis, steal one of thier motorbike and sidecars and be back in Blightly for tea.
What's he doing nowadays? Riding a bloody bmx trying to stop Dr X from polluting a river. Twat.

Shed loads of 'proper' meccano and lego including the train all of which are now being played with by the grandkids.

Yes quite a few and only last weekend I got my old Mamod steam roller down from the loft and fired her up in the garage. Fire, meths, matches and steam, what more could a 47 and 1/4 year old boy ask for!! ^_^

I could still have had one of these:

had my sister not trodden on it, breaking it in two, three days after I bought it.

Months of saved pocket money gone - not that I'm still bitter nearly 50 years on. Oh no.

[edit] I still have a Mamod engine - seems to be a common theme on this thread.

My mother gave my massive collection of lego away :ninja:

I managed to salvage *some* of my books (and yes, I do still read a few of them :becool:) but most is long gone.
