I've had this since I was 5 year old it's 48 inches long
Mine is very similar but without the sails and 49 inches long (I've just measured it  )

Was hand made by disabled people I was told.

I could still have had one of these:

had my sister not trodden on it, breaking it in two, three days after I bought it.
Months of saved pocket money gone - not that I'm still bitter nearly 50 years on. Oh no.

My friend beat me to saving up enough to buy the Simon Snorkel stocked by the local toy shop. I'd have happily stood on it to deprive him of the pleasure of ownership.

You could have had a go at him with one of these. I never knew anyone who had one but we all wanted them.

The same git got one of those for Christmas. He got very little satisfaction from its ownership because no-one would play with him when he could seriously out gun us all with our motley collection of revolvers, and carbines.

Not surprised - it was way out of our league! I think it cost about 7 or 8 quid when my pocket money was a shilling a week.

Go ahead Rezillo you're picking all my scabs of jealousy.

Don't worry - I was eventually forced to only have toys with an educational element to them; the kind that no-one could be jealous of. Here's one.

I bugged my sister's bedroom with it

[edit] This post is almost on topic as bits of the kit are still in my workshop.

There's a few bits and bob's upstairs, including my trainset, which dates from the early sixties.

You git!

My parents were too tight to buy me a Mamod, but my father built me a steam launch 3 feet long with a working engine based on the SL Branksome

Of course I still have it but don't trust the boiler nowadays. It started me off on a love of steam boats which ended with me building engines for full size launches.
Apart from that I still have various model railway kit and a Popeye paddle wagon, which survived due to me being extremely uninterested in it.

Still got a toy, stuffed dog made by patients in Stoke Manderville Hospital.

Tri-Ang wind up car.

Sadly, I lost my marbles years ago.................

Ive got a Mamod steam engine in the loft.

Always wanted one, was way beyond the parents budget though.
Did have an Airfix plastic battery driven Beam Engine though and I loved building and running that.
Still got the tech drawings to make a replica model beam engine I collected in a series in Model Engineer, another project never started.
Luckily my main presents were bikes and looking back my parents set me on a lifelong passion.
Wish I still had my old Raleigh Rebel!
Somewhere though there is a Corgi SPV from the Captain Scarlet series, need to find that.

I had one of those... I was ultimately banned from using it indoors after firing a grenade that hit the ceiling and splashed into my mum's tea, sending the scalding infusion all over her lap and 'frontal region'. Gradually you lost all the bits, till it was only useful as a pretend gun (i.e going 'nyakka dakka dakka' and 'shooting' people as you had to do with 'lesser' pretend guns that you made do with before the Johnny Seven christmas surprise) or a club.
