Always wanted one, was way beyond the parents budget though.
Did have an Airfix plastic battery driven Beam Engine though and I loved building and running that.
Still got the tech drawings to make a replica model beam engine I collected in a series in Model Engineer, another project never started.
Luckily my main presents were bikes and looking back my parents set me on a lifelong passion.
Wish I still had my old Raleigh Rebel!
Somewhere though there is a Corgi SPV from the Captain Scarlet series, need to find that. View attachment 20973

I used to have one of these.

You could have had a go at him with one of these. I never knew anyone who had one but we all wanted them.

I want one now!

I've still got my old train set from the mid 60's complete with a metal Hornby Dublo L.M.R 2-8-0 8F Locomotive and Tender still in its box, loads of track, carriages and accessories.

I have my teddy bear but he doesn't growl any longer, he just sort of oomphs instead. I have 'Tingaling' who is a bear top half and a big bum with a bell inside there somewhere and when you move him the bell tinkles. I have Bunny, who's ears and tail have been sewn on more times than I can remember and I have 'The Red Baby' who is a soft elf type toy with a soft plastic face. He has a red jumper on, hence being called the Red Baby. All these toys actually predate me as my parents adopted me and they thought that they were getting a child 2 year previous to me but then had to wait longer until their baby - me - turned up. I have a fine collection of Cheshire Cats too, from childhood right up to now (new one arriving next week).
