Thanks every body, it is all working

Scaling was set at 9%, have reduced it to zero and now have a very clear picture utilising all of the screen.
So was this the fault of the monitor or the PC ?
I think I got Microsoft .NET as well - what's that going to do, send me a bill ?
Fantastic, sorry i wasn't on last night i'd have posted the links for CCC,
glad it's up and running, the issue is defo an ATI/AMD one, it is a common fault with the cards they don't auto adjust overscan. another reason (amongst many others) i binned my twin xfx 7770's and went to a single Nvidia 650TI Boost 2gb. it is a beast
.net is just software architecture other programs need it to run, don't worry about having it
