I nipped out to the shop this morning on my bike. The roads were that busy(where the feck they are all going on a Sunday morn' i don't know)that i decided to ride on the empty pavement.. I'm not an inconsiderate pavement cyclist, always slowing down and giving way to pedestrians. Anyway, there was an elderly bloke in front of me as we both approached a LOOK RIGHT dip in the kerb at a roundabout, A car waiting in the queue flashed what i thought was both of us, to cross. The elderly bloke set off so i followed,. I wasn't riding my bike but walking it between my legs. The bloke passed the car but as was passing the car revved its engine and drove at me missing me by about a few inches, I looked at the motorist as i got to the other side safely, then he wound his window down. "You should be on the road with that effin thing you c..t" he shouted. I then replied that the roads are that busy and therefore not safe to cycle on. "F..k off and get some road tax" replied the fat idiot
.Surely he contradicted himself? On one hand he says i should be on the road and not the pavement, then on the other he says that i should be paying "road tax". So by my reckoning he says i should be on the road even though i don't have any "road tax".

Tell him if he wants to drive on the road then don't drive such an ugly car.

"My dear Sir, it is painfully evident from your attitude and poor driving that YOU should NOT be on the road"

Pretty much par for the course! There appears to be a deep seated hatred of cyclists in this country, that does not appear to be deminishing, I cycle on average 350klm per week and average adout 20 "incidents " each week, using a helmet cam maybe it would be good if we ALL contact the police on telephone line 101, then something might get done regarding attitudes towards cyclists on the public highway

There's always the chance they'd stop taking such reports as well. How high are cyclists in the target driven forces we have now?

Do camera wearers attract more problems? I seldom come across problems with motorist.

But when he tried to mow you down, you were on the road!
