Years ago I was out on a motorcycle ride with a lad who had just had his bike repainted by Dream Machine in a fancy paint job.

Can't have been more than 10 miles in and a pheasant flew out from the side, smashed his fairing upper to pieces and broke a couple of fingers on his left hand.

Needless to say he wasn't very happy..

Considering that the average Wood Pigeon weighs in at around 1lb (450g or so) and flies at approximately 40 mph (60k/h or thereabouts), you really don't want to be hit by one head on at any speed. The one that hit me in the face had a closing speed of around 110 mph!

Even a bumble bee at motorcycle speeds can be shocking. One hit the middle of my visor at somewhere just north of the speed limit and that made a shocking amount of noise and mess on the visor. Cockchafers are even worse, being armour plated.

Why say that ?

Were you there ?

What don't you believe?

I used to do regular track days up and down the country and this was one incident, I could regale countless tales of the track days I've done, but this is a cycling forum, not a motorcycle forum
A likely story!

I think you just got it trapped under your moob in your sleep[/QUOTE]
Erm, I think you missed this bit ;)
