Headset bolt Help!!!!!!!

Trying to readjust the bars on my Spesh Crossroads hybrid, I have completely unscrewed the cap bolt that goes right down the middle of the headset and now it won't reconnect. Please, what am I going to do?

has the star nut come out?

I'm not sure. I certainly haven't moved the bike so it'll just be there on the garage floor if it has. Is it just a case of turning the bike upside down and somehow trying to wriggle this nut back into position for the cap bolt to be turned back in?

and see if you can see what happened.

have you undone the stem bolts?

Thanks for your help! I've fixed it! The nut had just slipped down the headset so there was no contact. Turning the bike upside down sorted it, with a bit of manipulating!!!!!!
