Headwind out, tailwind in, or vice versa?

It's usually at my back (and downhill) going to work, in my face riding home.

Normally tailwind out as I tend to cut the ride short if I do the headwind first.

After doing a 100km ride before Xmas with tail then head, it will always be the other way round now

Headwind and usually uphill out, tailwind and downhill back, as there is a ridge to my West. Also Lentils Madras often on the menu, so the tailwind often prevails as well.

We've got a couple of routes around here that we can do one way then come back by train, depending on wind direction. A tailwind makes you feel like a cycling God and a point to point ride has more purpose than a circular one.
