My daft dog found it! Was walking him a couple of month back and he sniffed it out behind an old derelict garden nursery. Went back today to scope it out.
Called at a bungalow down the road from it and asked if they knew anything about it, the old guy said it was his but its knackered so I said what do you want for it?
Got it for a quid. Had to hack it out of the hedge with my Swiss army knife then
push the sodding thing back 2 mile on flat tyres and seized steering head

Hi, could be a Star Celeste model. Brochure indicates a lot of features on your bike including the colour and the downtube pump brackets. http://bulgier.net/pics/bike/Catalogs/Dawes_mid_70s/Dawes_catalog_mid_70s_2.jpg take a look and see if you agree. Looks a good machine, I'm sure it will scrub up well. Bargain for a pound!

Given Diana ( Dawes) a good soaking over night with wd40. Everything is freeing off lovely! Chrome on rims is knackered but I can live with that, tyres are cracked to hell but holding pressure.
Rear mech is a Sachs huret. Bars are dawes aluminium, head is G.B forged aluminium, brakes are weinmann type 730, levers are weinmann . Rear rack is a pleyscher. Might be worth doing a full Job on this? What do you think?
