Hello to you all. I just picked up my new giant defy 4 and I'm just going to go out and give it a try. I've only had an MTB for the last few years and haven't had a racer since my Raleigh arena about 30 years ago so I'm looking forward to going a bit faster than usual. I've gone in at the deep end and gone straight for clipless which I've been practising this morning. I'm choosing a route where there was sent many stops so hopefully no clipless moments. Wish me luck.

Hello from down the road in Angus.
Where in Aberdeenshire are you? I don't know of any CCers up your way, but I do know a few audaxers in the area.
Hope your ride went well.

It all went well. I just repeated to myself unclip unclip whenever I approached somewhere I might need to stop. I live in a town called westhill which is just on the border of Aberdeenshire/Aberdeen. It was a good day for a ride no rain but the roads were very wet so I came home with a nice black stripe up my back.
I'm going to be cycling to work most days now its not too far 6.5 miles. I actually cycled to work and back today and I was 7 minutes quicker each way than on the MTB so i'm well impressed with the speed.
I won't be out on it tomorrow though I'm going to a burns supper tonight and there will be copious amount of whiskey drunk so I've written tomorrow off. I'll just be dying on the couch watching the footie. I've now got 3 kilos of neeps to peel and chop so I'd better get a move on.

Welcome to CC from a bit further south!

My neeps and tatties are done, too.
Now to decide which way to cook the haggis ... MacSween label only offers oven and microwave method this time
I'm pretty sure it was 45 min gentle simmering in a pan of hot water for the size we bought caught last time... MTBs are great for chasing the wee beasties on the hillsides ;)
