Hello all, I'm James.

After choosing to commute to work on my old mountain bike, I soon found that I began to really enjoy cycling and I've taken the plunge and taken it more seriously and I am hoping to purchase my first road bike in the very near future.
I thought that it would be a good idea to immerse myself into a forum like this to further my knowledge of cycling, along with the guidance of a very good bike shop that I am lucky enough to have on my doorstep, as well as meeting new people who share the same interest in cycling as I do.
Hopefully I will be speaking to many of you in other threads across the forum!

I used to life about 4 miles from the city centre.

Welcome aboard. I used to commute from Barnt Green, Worcestershire, not far from you, to the City centre along the canal path. Loved it - Brum is a fine city and the countryside of Worcs is great for cycling.
