Hello from Bishop's Stortford (well, nearly)

There is one hill on the Fitch way (uphill if going towards Dunmow), only a couple of bike lengths long but nearly vertical (well I think it is ) and just round a bend so you can't get a good run at it. I fell off on that little rise a couple of months ago!

I'll start off at Braintree then, and head for the M11. That way it'll be a downhill.

The flitch way is a lovely pancake-like amble, but I know the exact hill you refer to Compo. The trick is to pedal like the clappers, traverse the corner at an almost horizontal angle and close your eyes on the way up. Seems to work for my fearless 5-year old boy. Apart from the odd departure into the nettles .
