Hi, I am Scott from Bo'ness, 44 and just rediscovered cycling 3 years ago. I now cycle to my work and back in Falkirk, but unfortunately don't have time to cycle on my days off, but thoroughly enjoy my commute most days. Hope to get some good tips in here and get involved in some good cycling related discussions.

Driven that road many times, but only ever got to thinking it would be a helluva climb, so hats off to you. My commute is mostly flat, apart from grangemouth to larbert is slightly uphill, and my last km home is from the bottom of boness to the top which is all uphill.

Thanks everyone, where were you Pat, and how did it compare to Glasgow? I have a few incidents each week, usually cars squeezing past on narrow roads etc. But always wondered how it compares to other areas.

Cheers Louch, what kind of distances do you do? I am only really used to the cycle to work and back which is about 40k round trip, albeit with an 8kg bag on my back and a 12 hour shift in between,so I am not sure how far I would manage.
