Ely & Dist CC do this route to Newmarket for some of their club runs, but if you want a more direct route: Prickwillow; Isleham; Chippenham; Snailwell is OK.

From Ely, the Prickwillow/ Isleham suggestion is a good one. I tend to do the riverside cycle path south to Barway, then past the salad place and on through Padney and Wicken, then on through Burwell and to Newmarket via Exning. Wouldn't recommend it if you're on a skinny tyre road bike (some poor surfaces), or in a massive hurry , but for slow plodders on hybrids like me its great. (The road between Burwell and Exning is short but horrible - I use the parallel bridleway to the north instead).

We did the shorter version today!(going off via Burwell to Exning and then Snailwell/chippenham) although in an anti-clockwise direction;
