Evening all . I'm Jason and have recently bought myself a road bike for my 40th Birthday . Not much of a mid life crisis eh
I had been riding a MTB to my allotment for a few years and to the boat and decided to buy a road bike as I was loving the trips . Now I go the long way around adding a few miles to get to where I want to go .
Last Sunday I decided to see what I could do and did 45 miles in just under 2 hours . When I finished I thought I could do the trip again with ease . Probably not at the same pace I must add !
I have a few questions about diet ( fuel ) for such trips or longer ones . I work as a carpenter and joiner and basic meals as in meat and veg keep me going in a physical job . Ive tried pasta and it just does nothing for me and leaves me shaking with hunger if I eat it for lunch and go back to work where as a cheese sandwich will keep me going all afternoon .
Im not really into taking power drinks and the like I would rather eat the right food and do it that way unless the power drink is beer then im a sucker for that
Any tips ?
