Hello from new guy

Hi from East Durham,just found this site! Road,gravel n mountain biker,been into cycling since school days,good old 52/42 cranks n 12/21 freewheels! Grinding up 1/4 hills in the north lakes,caldbeck,uldale area as a 15 year old,drifted away from cycling but back into it last couple of years,now 52 love it more than ever,always got bike in van when I'm away with work,beats sitting in bar/hotel room,regards,Dave.

Welcome, I too remember 52/42 but with 13-24 struggling up Holme Moss, I am strictly a compact man nowadays, but still enjoying it, hope you are too.

Yeah got 46/30 cranks on for winter,keeps the cassette jumps fairly small,much easier on the knees!

Welcome, my second bike has 53-42 cranks, certainly makes you work for your money uphill!
