Owa there...
Hey guys.
I am relatively new to all of this. I am 21 but as a child I used to love cycling around... basically anywhere. When I went into high school I gained a lot of weight and once I discovered BEER! I suddenly piled on the pounds...

Last Christmas I decided to do something about it and I weighed myself... I was 330 pounds... as a 21 year old.
Now I am a quite a tall chappy, 6 ft 3" and I used that as an excuse for being that weight but deep down I knew I was very obese so... I decided to change my ways.
New years resolution was to get to an size 40 waist down from a 48 and I gave myself a year to do this.
My birthday is in April and I was at the weight of 250 pounds which I was very proud of so... I got myself a bike.

After being stuck at work and with other stuff it was pushed to the side for the time but now... I am determined to use it and use it I have .
I have been on a total of three rides so far and they were around 10 miles each. Averaging 12mph which I am very proud of in my opinion.
I am currently 225 pounds and a 34 waist in September and to think back in January I was 330 pounds.
I can see why this cycling is very addictive as the first time I went on the bike I was papping myself but after one ride I wanted to keep going and going and going.... and going...

So... now that I am a cyclist I have decided to train myself up to the peak of my fitness by setting goals in order to lose the last bit of weight I want... (I want to be at around 190 pounds) and I believe this cycling will really benefit me.
So you guys will definitely see me throughout these forums

How man!

Good work on the weight loss. 'thumberland is a top place own a bike so make sure you take advantage. I did some growing up on the coast (Boulmer) when my dad was posted there in the RAF and it was where I started the cycling love affair.

Hi all and thanks for nice posts and welcoming

My bike is a Claud Butler San Remo 2013 road bike. http://www.evanscycles.com/products/claud-butler/san-remo-2013-road-bike-ec049014#features
The weight of it is 12kg.
It's my pride and joy :P

@Bollo Funny enough, my uncle is also in the RAF and was stationed at Boulmer for quite a while so I got to see a lot of the roads around that way
I am currently navigating myself through all the country roads throughout Longhirst up to Amble as I live in Ashington so... anything in the Morpeth area really is where I am practicing . Trying to avoid going south for a little bit until I get used to the roads a bit more and plus... the scenery in the north is something special

Well done so far. You are a lucky man in that Northumberland is a great place to ride. I attend cycling weekends twice a year in Northumberland and the riding conditions, Tea Rooms and scenery make them a joy I look forward to all year. Keep up the good work and maybe our paths will cross?
