Hi all,

As an ex-runner, I am trying to get back into fitness and decided that a recumbant is the way to go, as I have a back injury. I went to the ride wise meeting yesterday on Queens drive park and ride (http://www.ridewise.org.uk/ride/) and I really enjoyed the day. I tried out an Ice recumbant trike and also a 2 wheel recumbant. Both were fun to use on the car park but, I feel the low speed manouvering on the 2 wheel a little difficult and a bit unsure if this is the way forward. It was very relaxing on the straights though, with the bars underneath the seat it allowed my shoulders and neck to really relax.

All I need to do now is to procure one from somewhere in order to get bsck to fitness. I am currently on Disability due to the injury and illness that I have at present, so money is a bit hard to come by. I am also ex-military with 16+ years service and trying to find a job is increasingly difficult due to the lack of civilian experience. Should anyone know of a cycle store or a cycle scheme that would make this venture more likely I would appreciate it very much, as I am not elegiable for the cycle to work schemes that are available at the minute.

I look forward to sharing my future experiences with you all and I hope to learn a lot from yours.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
Hi. A warm welcome from powys. Sorry to hear about your back problems and hope you do get better. Sorry I can't help regarding your choice of steed, but someone will be along who can give you the advise you need to make a decision. Good luck and I hope you enjoy the forum.

Hi and :welcome: Mick.

I'm sorry to hear about your problems too. Don't know of any schemes to enable you to get the bike or trike you're after, but I wonder if you have access to a workshop at all? Or know anyone who has? If so, would building something from plans be any good?: LINK
