My memory of Leuchars is passing through in an audax as the snow started to fall, we didn’t fancy our chances getting the tandem onto a train so we felt we had to carry on. We ended up seeking sanctuary in a pub in Strathmiglo where we heard that Scotland had just won the Grand Slam that year.
Edit - just googled Scotland Grand Slams, no it couldn’t have been one of those. It must have been a Calcutta Cup win, possibly 2000. Whatever, the pub provided a most welcome respite on the way back to the finish.

He’s last year of infants/ junior I’m not sure of quite how the Scottish system works. Son in laws in the Army so that’s how come they are in Leuchars.

Primary school and high school here. P1-p7 age 5-12 then high school age 12-18. Yeah a fair few of her class mates are army families, base is quite busy again.

Hello, fae Glesca way.

The only times I have ever actually been in Leuchars (and not just passing on the train) was for the Air Shows (the last one being in 2013).
I do miss it.

They won the Grand Slam in 1990. I was about 7 at the time.

They still have what might be considered to be planes worth spotting as often there is a group of said spotters by the sign which says no taking of photographs.

Dug out and added some bits to the galaxy hack,

Titanium seatpost, deda stem converter and specialized titanium stem to go with the bontrager to-tec titanium bar already on bike.
