Hi,

I'm Pete from Warrington, I've been cycling since i can remember tbh but i've never really had a decent bike, always a cheap MTB which inevitably wears out within 18 months.
i figured its about time i got a decent bike, granted the ol' MTB gets me to work and back but after taking it on a run to frodsham and delamere and back to warrington, it just about fell apart, and so did I.

So i'm resolved to get a decent bike, i've been looking at hybrids after trying out a friends charge plug, i wasn't that fussed on the tiny handlebars but otherwise it was a great ride. bonus with a hybrid is i can take it wild (ish) camping with me.

i cycle about 50 miles a week for work and i'm dying to do more, i'm a father of 2 boys who are still just learning to ride and i'm an avid outdoorsman/camper/bushcrafter/hiker.
I look forward to having a good read on the forum and joining in

oh and yes i'm a wolves fan.

Welcome to the site,as you can see everyone has fun on here.Used to work in Warrington and wished i commuted instead of driving there as it was an absolute knightmare when the motorways fouled up !

Welcome! I was living in Warrington during the week up until 6 months ago although I've since moved to Northwich as my midweek stopover.

I have looked at the Careera, how do you find it weight wise?
did you get yours as a package with guards at all? everywhere i see it doesn't come with them.

been a bit weird this season hasn't it? us you and huddersfield at the top all fighting to go clear.
can't wait till next season cause then we get the widnes vikings in.

hi fellow rl guys

i found the carrera very light, but then again ive only had cheap heavy mtb's before now.

i paid extra and got mudgaurds. took it back for 6 week service and added a computer and bar ends. ive added a few bits and bobs myself, a small bag on the front, a tiny bag on the back for wallet and phone etc

if i continue riding i may outgrow it in terms of performance but it is a hybrid after all. many potholes round here so wanted something substantial, i was worried being tall and heavy that i needed something strong. on balance its a greta bike for the money, a 22" frame suits me well

cheers dk

plenty of good reviews on dawes from friends and decided i like the mojave, when it arrives i'll let you know how it goes.

as for good friday? yeah its derby time warr/widnes
must admit tho dave i've missed that cycle warehouse shop, i'll have to have a gander at that.

These bikes are great. I can thoroughly recommend them. The smooth tyres mine came with were perfect for commuting, and throwing on some gnarly tyres made it awesome in the snow and ice we've been having the past couple of winters.
