Just witnessed a three car pile up and got it on camera, twice. I was testing out my new helmet camera this morning and using my old one.

A lady in a golf went into the car, which then shunted forward into another. They were all fine, other than maybe some 'whiplash' or something. Lady in the Golf was already trying to pass the buck to the first lady for braking...well, in traffic that happens. She was obviously getting on the nerves of the lady in the front so had to basically tell her to shut up and accept she was wrong.

They've got my details and know about the video.

The police were phoned. Was because a car was leaking something (looked like windscreen wash or something). Probably a good thing too as the way the lady in the back was speaking, and was going abroad today....etc....makes me think if she could get away with it she would.

An Ambulance did come past (we thought it was the police to begin with). They were going elsewhere but they did stop and ask if everyone was okay which was good.

Hopefully they were all insured/had driving licences. Would be nice to hear that everything goes well, but I didn't get there details so I guess not hearing anything is probably the best thing.

If the lady who caused it just gave a few more meters room and was a little more patient none of this would have happened...and she wouldn't have lost anytime.

Main thing is, the only damage was to the cars and pride.

Did you not want to point out that if she shut up she would then be unable to admit to being wrong? She would need to admit it first and then shut up ;)

lol. She did...sort of. kept fussing about the car in front braking (well madame...if you had f*king braked we wouldn't of been in this problem).

Anyway. I will upload the footage. It isn't in bad taste. If someone had died/hurt/etc/then that would be a different issue. All three ladies were aware of the camera and (two at least) were greatful for them.

You'll have to wait till I get home....bit of a build up...as I've wasted enough time at work just saving the files and watching them over.

There can be two videos...from the two cameras. Both did a pretty good job. The Muvi micro gets a nice wide shot, but the ATC picks up the crunch a lot better.

I really do hope that the lady who caused it was insured and coughs up and mans up. Thankfully she goes the other way to me, so she won't teach me a lesson for not agreeing with her ;)

A scene shot and a tight shot, you spoil us sir

It's like having a whole camera crew strapped to your head. Do you have a sound man and a gaffer there too....Spielberg eat ya heart out.

WHERE'S THE VID!!!!

One thing to remember when catching incidents, is that it can be a good idea to take extra time to film the whole scene, to take time to film each person's face, and the numberplates. I tend to call them out phonetically as well so that if there's any doubt it's easier to get the right number down.

I only did the numberplate of the car who caused it and said it out, just because I didn't trust her. The three ladies cars and faces are shown on the footage, but I didn't go for any sort of mug shot.

The worst thing is, out of all the people who saw it, including another cyclist and other car drivers. No one else stopped. Not even a quick "are you okay?". If I hadn't stopped I'm willing to bet no one else would have. Even without the offering of film evidence if I'd of just witnessed a crash it doesn't take much to just ask if they're okay.

It is worrying. Even a tiny little shunt could no doubt cause someone some bad injuries and I've had someone go in the back of me at about 3mph and that shook me up enough.

I think you're totally awesome for stopping and offering your details. That's top props to you for being a decent human being.

haha...at least they didn't get out and say "oi bitch!"...though, if the lady who caused it didn't shut up I recon she might of had that said to her...the lady in the first car did tell her to shut the * up, I think.

Watched the video in slow mo. The lady at fault, tried blaming the lady two down for stopping quickly. She wasn't even moving!! The girl in the middle of the pile up was slowly moving forward and looked like she was stopping for the car in front (she needed to). Lady behind can't of been paying any attention.

Another couple of hours before it is released onto the net.

oooo can't wait... i can't believe others didn't stop if they witnessed it, any kind of altication that i see and i'm a witness straight away. It's nice to have someone help you in these situations and why shouldn't a cyclists stop and say what they saw.
