Ha ha this is brilliant. You're more qualified than a surgeon who is actually faced with these things everyday. You're actually claiming that your naked skull will be better off hitting concrete than if it is protected. Stats or no stats, it's common sense. Like i said initially it's your choice i couldn't care less, just don't belittle those who do with juvenile arguments and intentionally going 'off topic' with immature random warblings.

take care

Now that is ironic!

What are your qualifications to suggest that Wardlaw and Thornhill are wrong?

Or even given the full version of your earlier misquotation that verifies their findings!

Given that both have suggested that cycling head injuries are a minority can you justify why given your own claim that it is acceptable in the case of pedestrians, drinkers, motorists or any of the more frequent presentations that helmets a re unnecceassary . After all in each case "You're actually claiming that your naked skull will be better off hitting concrete than if it is protected. Stats or no stats, it's common sense" to wear a helmet in the pub?

You also have failed completely to explain why the previous drivel about families dealing with head injury victis is somehow more acceptable in non-cyclists.

.. then there is football!

22% of all football injuries are head injuries.

81% of professional footballers when tested displayed at least some signs of neuropsychological impairment which was linked to concussion or other head injury during their professional career
33% show abnormailities on CT scans again attributable to head injury

Tell me about it.
I broke my nose last week playing football. Currently sporting 2 black eyes!
Bit of rest, though, and it'll be business as usual again!

Yes actually. Mr Jenkins is a Batchelor of Medicine and Surgery. He has no MD degree and has therefore never trained in research. And it shows.

Actually the human skull will survive a far greater impact than the helmet is designed for but double the size of the head by sticking a helmet on it and it will hit much more often.

Ah good old Cicero raises his head again. "When you have no basis for argument, abuse the plaintiff" What did I do to deserve it? Embarrass you by showing the full context of your selective quoting?

ADRIAN!!! Ive put my piccies up on the Mountain Bike part of the forum - Llandegla Piccies - you like my helmet????:wahhey:

I hate to be picky - but no I don't!

IT may be the pictures, or the design of the helmet, but the helmet appears to be too high on the forehead and this would compromise it's effectiveness.

Poorly fitted helmets can in fact increase head injury!

Rivara (famous for the 85% claim) has suggested that an ill fitting helmets can double the chance of head injury when compared to a well fitted one.

But not hurt as much ^_^

How careless of you, and so unneccessary!

The answer is so simple!
