Quick search showed three native species, the celery came from Cambridge. Meant I'd a 1 in 3 chance of being right. The other two were also darker in colour.

I had nearly a whole bag of salad leaves with chicken for my tea and didn't find any creepy crawlies in it. However while out walking today wearing my sandals, i stopped to talk to someone and saw a black beetle on the floor. A minute or so later i felt a sharp pain on my little toe, caused by the beetle attacking me!
