@User9609, you're getting 30 degrees because you've used cos 45deg as 0.5 instead of 0.7071 so the louvre wouldn't be 56mm at Lv it would be 40mm, because both the post and the louvre are set at 45 degree splays they'll both be the same width . Then it should work through as 35 degrees on the splay junction?

Ah, spotted it R, the values for dims a, b and c are all 28.28 so in your second diagram horizontal dim c should be 28.28 not 40 if it's looking towards the column at 45 degrees to the face of the column if it's face on then dim c would be the width of the column ie 40 but then you'd lknow Lv and c so the angle would be cos x = c/Lv w so cos h = 40/56.56 which should give you about 35 deg degrees for the louvre splay [haven't got calculator on me with cosh^-1]... if you follow it through it should come to 35.26 deg.
