Why not do Leeds, Selby, Howden, North Cave, Beverley and back.

I did that route a while ago and enjoyed it.

If you want to go via York then head out on the A1079 then take the road to Elvington head for Melbourne, Everingham, Market Weighton then Beverley. Return via the route outlined at the start.

Follow route 66 to Beverley.

I do like the B1228 a lot myself, but it's not everyone's cup of tea.

That's pretty much what I'd do. After Stamford Bridge you can either follow the signed route which is all flat with one little climb up to the main Pocklington road, or turn off and go through Full Sutton to Fangfoss, which has more swoopy ups and downs, but is a slightly more main road.

You could go out that way, and then ring the changes at Pocklington on the way back, and return via Melbourne and Elvington, or vice versa.

The management reserves the right to change without notification any part of this day out.Thats why Scarborough went west.Once we geriatrics realized how far Beverley was that went west also.So plan is to try and get to Market Weighton. But if we think our legs might go we have a bail out plan .So here it is .

Leeds -Wetherby-Rufforth-Acomb-York-Osbaldwick-Stamford Bridge-Fangfoss-Pocklington-Burnby-(here we can bail out to Melbourne)-Burnby-Londesborough-Market Weighton-Everingham-Melbourne-Sutton upon Derwent-Osbaldwick-York and back to home same way as coming in .

We have no idea how far this is.We shall stop if we expire. But we try to do a long ride once a year. This will be a saturday in June or early July.We enjoyed our ride a couple of years back from Bridlington so much we try to do a long one each year. This is long for us.

Try using www.mapmyride.com for plotting your rides it will give you the mileage and the amount of climbing that you have to do.

The round trip is about 40 miles. Making Leeds - Market Weighton - Leeds about 92 miles.

I though that you were rather keen. I've ridden to Beverley and back and was very tired afterwards.

Why not catch a train out to somewhere like Selby and ride to Beverley and back to Selby before catching the train back to Leeds?

I used to do a lot of one way rides by either riding out from Leeds and catching a train back or catching a train out and riding back to Leeds.
