My daughters re-arranging her bedroom - again.

I need to extend the current Sky cable by about 10 metres - preferably without paying Murdock a fortune.

After a Google session I think it just needs a standard cable but I'm completely confused as to what sort. Can anyone post a link to something that will work?

Cheers
Steve

How long is it from the satellite to the box?

There are various high grade cables you can get such as FT125, FT100, WF100, WF125 but pretty much any should do you if it isn't that long. You can get them from maplins or any store worth it's salt.

Don't forget to install a drop loop.

The existing box is close to the disk - say about 4 or 5 metres. I think it's about 25,000 miles to the satellite.

All those cable names mean zip to me.

Drop loop ????

Now I'm even more confused

I'm sure Wickes sell the shielded cable (maybe only in 50m rolls though) and the ends, I think they also sell joiner bits. B&Q etc probably sell the stuff too.

you need one of these: cable and one of these: connector

screw the connector into your existing satellite cable, and one end of the new cable into the other end of the connector. screw loose end of new cable into satellite box. job's a good 'un
