Absolutely had enough!! My wife and myself out for a ride this morning and met some terrible drivers.
On a B Road between North Leverton and Retford, decided to have a look at the garden centre there, riding single file with nothing behind, got to the crown of the road and just as we reached the entry to the garden centre with us both signalling right, the driver of a big grey BMW overtook us on the wrong side of the road doing at least 70mph. Nothing coming the other way thankfully but it almost wiped us out. Never experienced anything like it. Felt sick how close the car had come to us. Going so fast the driver just carried on. Sat here shaking typing this. Really think it's time to pack it in.
Drivers of large BMW, Mercedes, Audi drive on country lanes as if they are on M1 motorway. The garden centre was closed!!
Signalling to turn right in our village and as we turned right a prat in a sports car came round the same corner and thankfully again nothing coming other way, he very close passed us and roared off.
I am not anti car. Driven all my life from the age of 18. I am now absolutely certain that a lot of car drivers are anti cyclist. I met 3 this morning. Any ideas?

I feel the same but I've got too much invested in cycling to pack in. Too many bikes, too much bike paraphernalia. I may go over to the dark side and take up mountain biking or doing bike trails but deffo the roads aren't safe now.

I have now discovered that the road we were on was not even a B road. Just an unclassified country lane.
Feeling a bit calmer now. Anyone recommend a helmet camera? Thanks all.

Next time you go for a cycle, it may be wise to put a camera on your helmet so that you can report these incidents.

I would get a bike radar (Decathlon are selling the Garmin Varia for £130) and link it to your Garmin/Wahoo or phone (assuming it's Bar mounted). You'll be amazed what the extra situational awareness does for your riding confidence.

For me, I don't think cameras and/or radars would help me.

I'd be wasting time reviewing footage and neither gadget prevents reckless behaviour that injures or worse.

Back on the bike yesterday evening. We just did a little 10miler from home. No problems and I felt comfortable. Did about 2 miles on main road and all OK.

I've ridden with and without cameras. In my experience, I noticed more wreckless driving with the camera. And I spent the remainder of such rides with the incident still in my mind as it was on camera. Without the cam, I find I tend to calm down sooner and eventually forget about the pillocks.
But I have had success in the police issuing warnings and notices when I've submitted footage.
You'll find these types of driver tend to appear in swarms. You'll have a few good rides and then a bunch will emerge from the woodwork all in one day or two. I had five of the ba****ds yesterday and got into a heated arguement with one when I caught him at the lights.
Don't let them win by giving up due to their incompetence at the wheel.
