Yes - that's what I was wondering. No quick release on your friend's bike?
No, not on her bike.
Me too I have a couple of bikes still with ... erm ... nuts ^_^
My trailer hitch is not suitable for quick release, wouldn't be able to use it.

Now I have to wonder about the pump, repair, replace with like, or replace with new?

I think it failed because of how I had it mounted. I had it upside down because when mounted the other way up, it had a habit of extending while I was cycling. I think this caused the pump to collect water and road grit. I think that's what liked it.

I was prepared. I had patches, a spare tube, a pump, and tyre levers. Even with that preparation, I still had to call for a ride. It seems that yesterday's London to Cambridge ride in the pouring rain killed my Topeak race rocket. When I got a puncture, I spent half an hour trying to get some air into the tyre, but it won't budge.

When that happened to me, in the depth of winter, I flagged down the first cyclist I saw and ten minutes later I was on my way.

If I had to I would flag down another cyclist - or several ^_^
Actually did this for a friend, I did not have the right spanner for her bike: 2 cyclists later we had the right spanner, we fixed the flat :okay:

Similar thing happened to me a number of years ago, transferred my saddle bag across to the bike I was going to use for a ride with friends, later in the day when I punctured the spanner for the track nuts was missing and nobody else had got a suitable spanner, I ended up knocking at the door of a nearby farm house and borrowing a spanner.

I was on a mission so i would not have stopped unless it was something serious. Was supposed to have done the London Cambridge on a tandem with my grandaughter, But her mum would not let her do it in the rain, She is only 10 years old, And mum is always right, This was my 3rd go at it but never been able to push hard the whole way, My other half could not ride it because she has a broken collar bone, So it was down to a freind and myself to go for it.:okay:
