Made a bit of a start. Quick wash and started taking the horrendous wiring off. Hubs dated 51. Say reg harris road model and lenton on the seat tube . Rims appear to be either stainless or alloy.

I reckon I need to get drunk more often if it results in picking up a nice old Raleigh like this cheap! Mind you I can't complain at some of my stone cold sober bargain purchases.
The rims are more likely to be stainless rather than alloy on a bike like that. Rust-free crap braking in the wet!

Yeah John . Paid 22quid for it. Worth that just for the stainless dunlop rims i think. Been after a lenton since i borrowed one when i was 14 and thought it was the mutts nutts. Ive had a little potter round on this but with them daft handlebars i felt like a monkey on a mangle!

Well I can definitely see a Black & Decker workmate, and there's one of those old fashioned steel bikes there too. Could it be a Raleigh by any chance??
