Just done a Chicken Katsu Curry - made entirely from scratch. Boiling up a curry sauce using three granny smiths and a couple of nanas seemed a bit weird, but it worked well.

I invented a new sandwich yesterday, a hot slice of Gala pie in a fresh crusty white roll with Chutney. Nice!

A very unusual dinner for us tonight: dolmades - home-made - with a rice, herbs and pinenut stuffing, served as the main course. Tricky little devils to get them just right, but I think we managed it.

They're one of those dishes that are very 'more'-ish: you keep on helping yourself to one or two more from the dish. But there were plenty to be going along with. A 225g packet of leaves go a long way!

Mrs VC made one of her rare visits to the cooker tonight and turned out a magnificent lamb and apricot tagine. It was first class, you should OF tasted it.
