Really? Tell me more: do I need a pond? Will cats chase away the toad? I am fed up going out at night with a torch and a tub of salt trying to save my lettuce

I have 'discovered' that if I place the snails from my front garden in the middle of the road they try to get back to the flower beds...some do.

I don't have a pond, Mr toad seems to have several gardens it visits, I've done nothing to encourage it, its just a welcome visitor.
