Ian, just checking: was the Church Road option to take you along Warren Avenue from Shortlands?

DMM, it would be grate if you came to Bromley. Having been unemployed fairly recently I know it isn't always easy to make an early start, would 7:30ish be bordering on madness?

I'm usually fine at getting up early, in fact I often have trouble staying in bed. 7:30 at Bromley magistrates court? I can do earlier if you need. It's probably a good idea to leave lots of time for the ride so that you can familiarise yourself with the route as we go.

7:30 will be fine, open to an earlier time slot. DMM see you at the magistrates court on Tuesday, I'll pm you my mobile number.

Thanks John

John.

Hi and welcome.

I run along the A21 around the right time for you...but I take the fast (busy) route to get across to white city in time for "clocking in".

So...If you fancy a faster/busier run, let me know and I can meet some day (along with a ride bud of mine) to share the run.

Just a thought, sorry if this has been mentioned I'm in a rush so cant read all the replies. The fast route up the A21/old Kent road is actually nowhere near as worrying as you may imagine. I actually find the quiet roads much more dangerous. The old Kent road is a mass of bikes with plenty of separated paths and wide bus lanes...plus the drivers on these busier roads are very cycle aware...wher-as the drivers on the quiet roads don't seem to be (apologies to all parents out there...but there are very few schools along the A21 and parents dropping kids off are some of the most distracted, inexperienced un-cycle aware type of road user's I see...PS I am one sometimes)

Personally, I'd stick to the busy sections.

(ps...When I ride with a mate, I hit the top of Bromley hill at 7.25, otherwise I leave much later)

Yeah, I'd second Jonny's comments - I feel it's both safer and faster. Waterlink way is a real risk when it comes to feral youth and muggings.

sorry my last reply may have confused.

I ride a couple/three times a week but leave lateish (around 8.00) but my ride bud needs to get to work earlier, so when we meet up we ride in around 7.20 to accommodate his hours...hence why I'll wait till he is back in the saddle and PM you to meet up.

normal service shall now resume...nothing to see hear...move along now
